Factors affecting sunlight reaching the Japanese Temperate Rainforest
Japan is located a little farther north of the Equator. This means that sunlight affecting Japan is not direct, but also not too spread out. Because of this, Japan has a comfortable, ambient temperature and receives a good amount of sunlight. Just like here in Canada, Japan has the most amount of daylight in June and the least amount of daylight around December and January. Since Japan is surrounded by bodies of water, this means it gets lots of precipitation. This precipitation comes from clouds. These clouds work to block and reflect some sunlight by its albedo (reflectivity), making the temperate rainforest cooler.
