Relation to the Japanese Temperate Rainforest
The Japanese temperate rainforest has high amounts of precipitation. This is because of the hydrosphere, causing high amounts of precipitation through oceanic circulation and the rainshadow effect. In relation to the lithosphere, Japan is located on the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, and is also near the Pacific plate and Philippine sea plate. Because of this, Japan and the Japanese temperate rainforest is heavily impacted by earthquakes and tsunamis.
