Animals [Black woodpecker]
The black woodpecker eats ants and wood grubs by using its bill to pick them out of dead trees. Its neck contains strong muscles which allow it to peck into the tree bark. Its long bill and physical strength allow it to pick deep into a tree in order to pick out its prey. The woodpecker is able to station itself onto a tree using its short legs, long sharp claws and stiff tail feathers.
